http://www.wmagazine.com/fSo, today I went with Jamie to Zotcis so that she could look at dresses for an upcoming wedding. I quickly became bored and decided to sit on the couch and read a magazine--the fashion magazine "W". I quickly and happily became immersed in the abundance of naked and almost naked supermodels displayed out before me. Things were going great, no better than great, things were spectacular. That is, until I reached the a fashion spread entitled, "Sweet & Vicious: Fifties glamour and a schoolgirl-meets-vixen charm set the stage for one sexy thriller." This spread had three models. Two of the three had seriously gapped teeth. Now, at first I figured that maybe this was some kind of editing trick done by the photographer, just for this shoot, but then I flipped through the magazine and found that SEVERAL of the models in this magazine were casually sporting teeth straight from the Jurassic period! I was seriously bothered by this. In fact, I couldn't stop staring at any of their teeth. Everything else became irrelevant. Several questions ran through my mind, "Did I miss something? Are these people purposely getting their teeth sculpted to look like this? Are these girls just so young that they haven't had a chance to get braces yet? Are they from some foreign culture where teeth like this are the norm? In 20 years will we all want teeth like this?" I just couldn't fathom what was going on. And then, even worse, I started to feel guilty about all of this. After all, who was I to bag on somebody else's teeth? Maybe they like them like that. Who's to say that straight teeth are all that attractive anyways? My teeth certainly aren't perfect. These girls were all supermodels after all. Well, I'm gonna be weirded out by this one for a couple of days at least. Below, I've copied a link to the slideshow from the magazine just to prove to you guys that I'm not crazy...
